Developmental transformation Journey since 2015

Agartala: April 21: Since 2015, after taking charge of public relations and later serving as State BJP President, I had the opportunity to travel across Tripura—especially into its most remote corners. What I witnessed under the decades-long Left Front rule was deeply troubling. A fictional narrative of a “golden state” was being peddled, while the reality was one of deprivation. The honest and simple people of Tripura had been denied basic rights and government welfare. Power was wielded with arrogance, and the voices of the oppressed were silenced by fear.
Yet, behind those silent faces, I sensed a longing—a yearning for change, for freedom. With faith in the developmental revolution led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, Tripura saw a historic transformation in 2018. The people rejected oppression and chose progress.
When I became Chief Minister, my first visit was to Dhanuram Para in then-Gandachhara, a place that symbolized the state's neglect. People there survived on jackfruit seeds and forest produce. There was no food security, no electricity, no roads—only suffering. We began working tirelessly to bring dignity to their lives.
Today, that very region stands as a testament to what determined governance can achieve. Under PM Awas Yojana, families now have proper homes. Electricity, clean drinking water, roads, rubber plantations, land rights, ₹6,000 annually through PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, social pensions, and free rice have become a reality.
The transformation is visible not just in infrastructure, but in the smiles of the people. From fear to freedom, from neglect to development—Tripura’s journey is now one of hope and growth.
Under Modi Ji’s visionary leadership, the light of development has truly reached the last mile. Tripura has replaced terror with trust and stagnation with progress.
